Koreograferne Margrét Sara Guðjónsdóttir og Marie Topp ønsker med deres nye stedsspecifik forestilling FROM THE FINITE TO THE INFINITE TO THE FINITE TO THE... at invitere publikum med ind i deres fælles fascination og langvarige kunstneriske undersøgelse af tilværelsens alternative tidslighed.
Choreographers, friends and long term colleagues Margrét Sara Guðjónsdóttir and Marie Topp wish trough their new site-specific performance FROM THE FINITE TO THE INFINITE TO THE FINITE TO THE... to invite the audience into their shared fascination and long-term artistic exploration of alternative temporalities of existence.
In the choreographed urban nature of Valbyparken, they investigate the physical resonances and reflective processes that occur when a place is energetically transformed—how bodies can mirror, resonate, and dance together. By proposing points of departure and openings into new spaces for thought and experience, the work questions our inner and outer realities—how connections arise and extend beyond the conscious mind.

For at nævne nogle få; Sadlers Wells London, Sommerbar/Tanz im August Berlin, Festival Rencontres choréographiques Paris, Frascati Amsterdam, Kampnagel Hamburg, HAU Berlin, WUK Vienna, Black Box Oslo, Julidans Amsterdam, Spring dance Utrecht, SAVY contemporary Berlin, December Dance Brugge, STUK Vienna, Side Step Festival Zodiak Helsinki, Imagetanz BRUT Vienna, Tramway Glasgow, Sophiensaile Berlin, Göteborg festival Gothenburg, MDT Stockholm, Dansenshus Stockholm, Dansenshus Copenhagen, Dansenshus Oslo, Dansehallerne Copenhagen, Den Frie Museum Copenhagen, Atalante Gothenburg, Dansstationen Malmö, Bora Bora Aarhus Jutland.
Hun har skabt bestillingsværker for bl.a. Cullberg Ballet, Folk Operan, The Iceland Dance Company og Les Grandes Traversees-festivalen.
Marie Topp
Icelandic now Brussels based choreographer Margrét Sara Guðjónsdóttir lived in Berlin during the longest part of her career of 25 years whilst creating and touring internationally her performance works. Since 2010 she has been addressing the pathological imprint of the social political body within our own bodies and its deconditioning in her choreographic works, as well as conducting artistic research into her somatic practice FULL DROP into the body. She considers her work involving de-conditioning as a direct political gesture and activism. In a larger sense her artistic practice engages in the ongoing discussion of healing, feminism, interconnectedness and notions of energetic citizenship.
Throughout the years Margrét Saras work has been supported by various festivals and cultural institutions and venues in Europe. To name a few; Sadlers Wells London, Sommerbar/Tanz im August Berlin, Festival Rencontres choréographiques Paris, Frascati Amsterdam, Kampnagel Hamburg, HAU Berlin, WUK Vienna, Black Box Oslo, Julidans Amsterdam, Spring dance Utrecht, SAVY contemporary Berlin, December Dance Brugge, STUK Vienna, Side Step Festival Zodiak Helsinki, Imagetanz BRUT Vienna, Tramway Glasgow, Sophiensaile Berlin, Göteborg festival Gothenburg, MDT Stockholm, Dansenshus Stockholm, Dansenshus Copenhagen, Dansenshus Oslo, Dansehallerne Copenhagen, Den Frie Museum Copenhagen, Atalante Gothenburg, Dansstationen Malmö, Bora Bora Aarhus Jutland.

Marie Topp
“To experience a billion years in one hour”, a reviewer wrote in 2021 describing a performance by Marie Topp. Her performances are characterized by their meditative and hypnotic effects on the viewer. By using slowness as a way to create hyper awareness and by building landscape-like scenarios on stage through the movements of dancers, sound and light, Topp is creating performances that hold potential for intense emotional journeys. Through artistic collaborations she makes performances that function as spaces of resonance that support sensorial encounters, embodied thinking, collective concentration and reflection.
Marie Topp has collaborated with artists such as Julia Giertz, Mårten K Axelsson, Igor Dobricic, Margret Sara Gudjonsdottir and Eric Andersen and others. She is associated artist at Milvus Artistic Research Center and has collaborated with organizations such as Dansehallerne, MDT Stockholm, MARC, Dansk Danseteater, Aaben Dans, Bora Bora, Inkonst, K3 Tanzplan Hamburg, Kampnagel, Inkonst, Atalante, Dansstationen. She was educated at The National School of Performing Arts in Danmark in 2009.
